Why Serve? :: The outward sign of becoming more like Jesus is actually doing the things that Jesus did. Jesus served sacrificially and challenges all those who follow Him to do the same (John 13:14-17). Jesus said: “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:43-45). Jesus promises that all those who remain connected to Him, and love one another as He loves us (through sacrificial service)—will be filled with His joy (John 15:11).
